  1. One Pillar Pagoda:

It is an attractive construction including a temple built in the middle of the lake. This construction is called one pillar pagoda which has curved roof, building on cylindrical stone columns. The column`s height is 4m and has 1.2 m in diameter. It is strong enough to support the pagoda in the structure of a lotus above. You can reach the Budha`s lovely radio by a small path which crosses the lotus pond. The pagoda is constructed to memorize King Ly`s dream.

It is said that, Ly Thai Tong used to dream about Guan Yin Buddha sitting on a lotus and bringing him up there. As he awoked, King Ly told the agency about this dream and then they advised him to build a temple with one stone pillar in a lotus pond. A temple was built on the column like the symbol of a lotus in his dream.

Hoan Kiem lake is not only an ideal place for jogging or walking but also meaningful site to the city`s residents in various aspects of life. On the new year`s Eve, people are eager to walk around the lake. In spring, the lake is a good meeting place for young men and women to go to the temples nearby. The rustic dish, rooted in the countryside, appearing in Hanoi long time ago becomes a favorite food in Hanoi. One can eat snail noodle for breakfast, lunch or dinner, eat at any given time. However, the moment that people remember and crave Hanoi snail noodle especially in the traditional New Year’s Day, when fed up with trays full of fish and meat containing a lot of protein.

The soup of this dish is always full of color of tomatoes distillation, the greasy snail, and banana. When eating, add some sliced banana flower to make the noodle bowl full of new flavors.

Pho is a traditional food of Vietnam and also regard as one of the typical Vietnamese food. The main elements of Hanoi noodles are noodles and broth made from bones of chicken or beef, some slice of beef or chicken with fresh vegetables, chili, pepper of lemon juice. People can eat noodles depending on their taste so they can ask the cooker to add more or less spices. People often eat pho in the early morning or in late night. However, nowadays you can eat this food at any time.

Water used for Pho is made from bones of beef or chicken. Firstly, chicken and beef are selected carefully from the market, and then are cleaned with fresh water. These bones are put into a large pot of water and stewed for 2 or 3 hours to get the nutrient and create the sweet taste for the broth.
